"Thank You" from Father Shawn

Dear parishioners of St John's, North Vancouver. 

By the time you read this, I will (God-Willing) have been Ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests in the Holy Church of God. I have been preparing for this, in many ways, for quite some time and I wish to formally acknowledge the role that all of you, the members of this parish, have played in my formation and development. I appreciate the opportunity to get to learn a bit about the ministries of this parish, and about each of you.

As I transition from being "Deacon Shawn" to "Father Shawn," I want to thank all of you for your support over the last few months. I name in particular the Church Wardens, Alison and Kathryn, the members of Parish Council, Donna our Parish Admin, Galina, Christie, and the Music Ministry Team, Hazel and Jill, the Altar Guild, and all of you who contribute in so many ways--space prevents me from just listing the parish roll! A special thanks to the Reverend Georgina Harris, for our close working relationship and for embodying the best of what team-based ministry can be, and to the Venerable Kevin Hunt, for his mentorship and guidance toward the priesthood. Finally, I thank my parents, family, et mon épouse--avec qui tout est possible.
